As part of the international “Christmas in a Shoebox” initiative, apprentices at Texmo Blank Germany decided to assemble 15 gift boxes for children in need. The thoughtful project is guided by a simple idea: to offer children around the world a moment of hope, happiness, and light-heartedness during the Christmas season.
The boxes were packed for several age groups, 2 - 4, 5 - 9 and 10 - 14 years, with contents carefully selected to suit each stage of childhood. They included toys, craft materials, hygiene items, warm clothing, and a handful of small surprises. Each parcel was also accompanied by a handwritten Christmas card and a photograph of the apprentices.
“It mattered to us to add a personal touch,” explains Elisa Bottenbruch from the Youth and Apprentices’ Council at Texmo Blank Germany, “Small details can make a big difference, especially for children.”
All boxes were prepared in line with the official guidelines of Samaritan’s Purse, the organisation behind “Christmas in a Shoebox”, which supports millions of children worldwide every year. The initiative combines practical assistance with a clear message of hope and human connection.

Texmo Blank’s training management team also recognised the apprentices’ commitment. “It is wonderful to see the enthusiasm they bring to this project. Their effort is a genuine expression of compassion and a meaningful way of passing on gratitude,” says Carolin Mangold.
The project demonstrates how social responsibility and shared values can be embedded in day-to-day corporate life. It also highlights how even the smallest gestures can have a remarkable impact – especially at a time when solidarity and empathy matter more than ever.
